Apimaye insulated bee hives are made from food grade, UV-resistant plastic (HDPE) with anti-static additives. Double layer insulation helps keeping the colony warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The hive has ventilation system which prevents moisture. It reduces the winter food consumption, and stimulates colony growth in the spring therefore it is more productive. It is a standard Langstroth hive and wooden or plastic frames can be used interchangeably. Standard features from bottom to top: Screened bottom board with pollen trap and drawer: Enables collecting your fresh local pollen. The pollen collected by the bees gets trapped and falls on the bottom drawer. The pollen can then be collected by just pulling the drawer from the back. The entrance reducer can help prevent looting, and enables locking the front for winter. The hive bottom board also has ventilation slots to fight moisture buildup inside the hive. Multi functional slot: Located on the brood boxes and the supers, the slot can be adjusted to be used for ventilation, bee entrance or queen entrance for the mating flight. Division/uniting board: The specially designed board can be inserted to divide a colony, or unite two colonies into a single hive. Queen excluder: Specially designed queen excluder that allows space between the frames so bees can move more freely. Frame spacers: Helps stabilizing the frames the hive. Located on top of the frames , they prevent frame shifting while carrying in hives with less than 10 frames Side latches and handles: Used to secure the broodbox, super or the hive top cover to each other and easy handling and carrying. Top Cover Feeder: Used to easily feed the bees with candy or syrup without opening the hive and disturb the hive balance. Features mechanism to prevent bees from drowning in the syrup.

I'm very happy with the overall quality of this product and the amazing customer service provided by the dealer. I decided to try these hives out as I've been having a tough time getting my bees through the winter in New England. I figured what's the harm in giving them a little extra support in light of the dying bee population? These hives look great and have some really clever design features. I love that they clasp together so I don't have to worry about space between the boxes and it also makes it easier to move the whole hive all at once. The entrance area is easy to close up for the colder weather and has a built in mouse guard. The pollen trap works really well, but is pretty easy to take out for the winter. I haven't used the feeder yet, but again, great design and I think it will work well. The best aspect of this product is the customer support. I've emailed the seller with questions or feedback at least 5-6 times since these hives arrived and the response is always fast, clear, and helpful. These people aren't selling a product they don't understand, so it's really nice to be able to email knowledgeable people and get the help I need to make sure my bees are successful. In fact, when Amazon accidentally sent me a hive with frames (I ordered two without), I offered to pay for the frames. The response was to take it as a gift and enjoy them next year when my bees are thriving. I've ordered from Amazon countless times, but rarely or never review - the fact that I'm writing a review is a testament to how great these guys are.Bottom line, totally happy with this purchase. If you're a beekeeper and you're thinking about trying some new equipment, I definitely recommend this company.I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy again from Apimaye. The whole experience has been great. This thing is amazing. The price is steep, but this Hive more than makes up with all the well-thought-out bells and whistles! Every attachment that I wanted to get for my langstrom wood hives, that was additional accessories, was all included in this package.Top feederQueen excluderPollen trayQueen separator for entranceFrame spacerThey really thought of everything when building this kit. Not to mention it's insulated and made of tough plastic so it doesn't Warp. Each box comes with its own Buckle to fasten itself to the other boxes along with carrying handles for each box. I purchased other frames here at Amazon and everything fit as it was supposed to. You can even go as far as to completely closing up the hive in case you ever want to transport. incredibly simple in design.I was really hesitant to purchase this considering the price and it was different from all my other Hive equipment. I wasn't sure if it would be compatible with my other equipment but I could even stick my other wooden Hive boxes on top of this one and it still works. I'm very glad I purchased this one. well worth it can't talk about it enough.I have yet to put my bees in, but I have to say, the more I am around this thing the more amazed I am by it. I can't think of anything they've forgotten. The feeder is flat genius, the fact they clamp together is a huge plus, and the bottom board and everything integrated into it is amazing. Is it as convenient as a Flo Hive? No, I guess it isn't. But this thing, with its GREAT insulation, does things the Flow Hive can't, AND I can buy almost THREE of these things for what I'd pay for ONE Flow Hive! That's an awful lot of money for a debatable amount of convenience.Customer service with these folks is VERY good. It's apparent they want this to be a success, and they put the effort in to make that happen. I'll update this in a few weeks when I get my package in, but right now, I'm completely convinced they've made a real winner here! I wish them luck, I LOVE to see people with passion and vision do something that is a benefit to us and animals around us.Well it's been about 4 weeks(5-6/17) since we've set up this Hive and as promised, I'm reporting back on it. We cannot be more pleased! From the service from the fantastic vendor whom have been very helpful, to the ease of the setup of this Hive as a novice first time beekeeper. These guys have thought of absolutely everything! Our friends/fellow beekeepers who have used the traditional wooden boxes are completely amazed at this hive! The setup was so smooth-going, our Colony has taken to it wonderfully, we already have Honeycombs created, we recently set up the second level; everything is going so well and we're super excited to continue to see our hive develop and thrive. Thank you very much for not only offering such an awesome product, but mostly that you've blessed us with a powerful tool to help us help this beautiful and most important creature which is in such desperate need of help from their fellow human creatures right now. Prospective buyers, pick one up and get one going while the time is now for the season. Best to you all! (Will add more photos soon)
